Students engage in real-world culinary projects, simulated campus banquets, and event management as part of our practical curriculum.
In line with our unique, life-ready Inclusive Curriculum, Silverdale High School recently hosted its annual Hospitality and Culinary Practicals exhibition. The senior students transformed the school banquet hall into a high-end restaurant simulation, handling everything from culinary preparations to guest service and event coordination.
The vocational project is designed to instill essential life skills, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. Students were divided into kitchen crews, front-of-house staff, and marketing teams, simulating the actual operational flow of a commercial hospitality business.
Parents, teachers, and external assessors were invited to dine. The menu featured a fusion of traditional Nigerian dishes and international appetizers, prepared and presented entirely by the students. Assessors rated the students on presentation, taste, etiquette, hygiene, and problem-solving under pressure.
By bridging the gap between classroom theory and hands-on vocational competency, Silverdale continues to raise well-rounded graduates prepared to lead in diverse sectors globally.
